What Capital Physics is

Capital Physics is a structural framework that treats private capital as an adaptive system governed by identifiable laws of motion. It is the system layer of the studio's framework stack — describing how capital actually behaves once deployed, and supplying the design principles that capital architecture has to obey in order to operate coherently inside complex environments.

The framework articulates the recurring forces that determine where and how capital is able to pool, compound or dissipate — including conditions specific to frontier and emerging-market environments where the standard assumptions of capital theory do not hold. The full framework includes its laws, its operating principles and the design rules that follow from them.

Conceptual framing

Most capital-architecture work operates as if capital were inert — a resource that does what it is told once allocated. The framework's central claim is that capital is closer to a physical system: it has direction, momentum, resistance and tendency. Capital deployed against its laws of motion does not perform as designed, regardless of the elegance of the legal structure that contained it.

Capital Physics articulates these laws of motion explicitly, so that capital architectures can be designed in accordance with them rather than against them. The framework is not a model of capital markets. It is a set of design principles for the architectures that move capital through them.

Access · Full framework

The full Capital Physics framework — including its laws of motion, operating principles and design rules — is installed inside client engagements. Access is established under engagement.

Where Capital Physics is applied

Inside engagements, Capital Physics is used to inform the design of funds, facilities and capital-deployment programmes — particularly where the receiving institutions operate in conditions that violate the standard assumptions of capital theory. The framework supplies the design constraints; the engagement supplies the specific architecture.

Typical engagement applications

  • Fund and facility design for frontier and emerging-market environments
  • Blended-finance instrument design where standard structures fail under operating conditions
  • Capital-architecture diagnostics for instruments that are not performing as designed
  • Policy architecture where capital flows are the central design variable
