The Mentorship & Talent Lab.

The Mentorship & Talent Lab is the studio's capability-building function. It develops the next generation of practitioners working across capital architecture, institutional design, foresight and strategic systems — and turns the studio's live work into structured intellectual infrastructure that can be inherited.

The lab's purpose is institutional rather than instrumental. Capability is treated as a long-horizon investment — in practitioners, in shared method, and in the field's overall capacity to design and operate strategic infrastructure inside complex environments.

Three workstreams run continuously. Capability development — practitioners are paired with senior collaborators across the studio's specialist network, with the Dual-Catalyst Partnership Framework applied to match complementary archetypes. Conversion — material from live engagements is decomposed into structured learning frameworks, without compromising client confidentiality. Publication — the studio releases its thinking through the Finance Contrarians Series, the lab's editorial vehicle, at a level of resolution appropriate for public engagement.

The Finance Contrarians Series.

The Finance Contrarians Series is the lab's editorial vehicle. It comprises two complementary brands, each operating in a different register but drawing on the same underlying intellectual infrastructure.

Brand · 01 · Systems register

The Capital Codex.

Structured analysis. Designed systems.

The systems-mode publication of the lab. Each release pairs a structural analysis of an institutional or capital problem with a workable architecture — drawn from the studio's framework library and refined through the live engagements where those frameworks are being applied. The intended reader is a practitioner who will design something next.

Inaugural release: Strategic Unhingedness — a mentor's note on holding ground inside high-stakes private capital rooms. Available below.

Brand · 02 · Satirical register

Big Boy Breeches.

BBB. An editorial column.

The satirical-register column of the series. Big Boy Breeches works through the conventions, cliches and unexamined habits of frontier finance and adjacent disciplines. The point is not entertainment but diagnostic — satire identifies structural fragility faster than analysis, and what BBB surfaces, the Capital Codex codifies.

Apply, mentor, or partner.

The lab is open to three constituencies. Practitioners developing capability in capital architecture, institutional design, foresight or strategic systems — particularly from contexts underrepresented in those disciplines. Senior collaborators available to act as mentors, paired with practitioners through the Dual-Catalyst Partnership Framework. Partner institutions — funds, accelerators, universities and operating institutions — interested in co-delivering or co-funding structured modules drawn from the studio's intellectual infrastructure.

To express interest in any of the three, reach out through the engagement page with a short note explaining the role and the context. Responses are typically issued within 72 hours.
